Frasier brings his son to Cheers and
Woody asks if the umbilical cord fell off yet.
The gang looks confused and Norm asks
"What do you mean?"
Frasier explains: "Well you see, when
the umbilical cord is severed the remaining umbilicus stays
attached to the navel for several days during which time it
comes to resemble a sort of shriveled week old banana.
Cliff has something to add...
Hey, ah,
it's very funny you used that analogy because the human
umbilical cord, if memory serves, is 90% potassium.
(Frasier: "Stay away from the baby, will you Cliff?")
The truth:
The umbilical is made of Wharton's
jelly, a gelatinous substance which is a rich source of stem
cells.
The banana, however, is rich in
potassium, 0ne medium banana has about 450 mg of it.
So go ape, eat those bananas, your body
needs about 2,000 to 3,500 mg of potassium a day.
