Margaret O'Keefe is coming back from
Canada to see Cliff.
Cliff points to the US Post Office
logo on his sleeve and starts rambling... |
You know
guys, I've been telling you for a long time now that, like the
proud bird on my sleeve, I was a lone eagle. Yep, even an
eagle's got to mate once in his life. It molts in the spring,
you know, the female lays one to three eggs, incubation period
is about 35 days...
(Margaret walks into Cheers.") (Carla:
"Thank God.")
The truth:
Since Cliff is talking about the bald
eagle which is the nation bird of America as well as the logo
for the US Post Office, his facts are fairly accurate.
It takes an eagle almost half a year to completely molt but the
do start molting in the Spring.
On average an eagle lays just under two eggs.
The incubation period for a bald eagle is about 35 days.
